Bad Boys Ain't No Good, Good Boys Ain't No Fun

Have you noticed that the women of our society are obsessed with the "bad boy" image?
Think about it. James Dean, Chuck Bass, Tony Stark, Damon Salvatore, Bruce Wayne etc etc etc. The list just goes on and on.
Bare with me here, I mean this could be real random.
I myself have a thing for bad boys.
I find myself drawn to them, and inexplicably so, because I will inevitably be whining and complaining that the guys I date aren't good guys and that all guys are the same when I have "friend-zoned" the perfectly good guys in order to choose the bad boy.
I can't help but pine for the boys with the complicated pasts, the moody and broody ones, the ones that come with their own set of emotional baggage that is just begging to be unpacked.
Why is that?
I'm not alone in this, it seems like a few of my friends fall into this same pattern.
We just love the bad boys.
The boys in the leather jackets, with the inked up muscles, the devil-may-care attitudes and the hearts of gold.
And yes I do realize how after-school-special this all sounds, but this is my blog and I can say whatever the heck I want to!
I mean if men are drawn to the chase; women are drawn to the challenge of change.
I had a friend in high school that called this whole phenomenon the "Hamlet problem".
For those of you who are familiar with the Danish prince, in a nutshell he is moody, broody and has A LOT of issues. As women we have this need to "fix" the emotional problems of those around us. My friend from high school saw Hamlet's problems in a lot of the guys she dated and she had this drive to save them, she wanted to be the one to inspire the positive change in their lives.
Every man we encounter presents a challenge for us. Each one comes with his own set of problems that we believe we can fix or change and we all feel a buzz when we think that we have succeeded.
It seems to me that what most women my age want is a bad boy that will be good just for her. On the other hand it seems like men my age want a good girl that will be bad just for them.
It's an interesting paradox, isn't it?

Excuse my random late night musing.....this is what no school does to my brain.....

Much love!
